Charlie name Dysie
Charlie's name is on the label. He earned it.
A small Vermont label, one extremely opinionated dog, and a rail of cardigans made for the women the rest of fashion quietly stopped designing for.
Charlie. Supervising, as always.
It started with Mr. Abbott.
Thirty-seven years ago, my husband and I started Ms. Abbott & Mr. Abbott together. From our home, I designed and knitted the cardigans while he took care of all the things I was never quite as good at.
We had one simple belief: getting older shouldn't mean disappearing into beige.
So I made the cardigans I couldn't find anywhere else. Proper, beautifully knitted cardigans with colour, character and a little bit of joy. Wildflowers, autumn leaves, patchwork, cats — patterns that make you feel like yourself when you put them on.
Then I lost my husband.
For a while, I wasn't sure I could carry on without him.
Charlie was there through all of it. My little shadow, sitting beside me while I sketched new patterns, choosing the warmest spot while I knitted, and following me around the house on the days that felt particularly quiet.
He could never replace Mr. Abbott. But he gave me a reason to keep going.
So Ms. Abbott & Mr. Abbott became Ms. Abbott & Charlie.
I still design my cardigans at home. I still knit. I still make the colourful pieces my husband always encouraged me to make.
Only now, there are four paws beside my chair.
The name changed. The cardigans — and everything we believed in — didn't.

Cut for real bodies, in real sizes
- Open front or button-through, so you decide how much you're closing.
- A relaxed body that skims the middle instead of gripping it — nothing pulling across the front.
- Cuffs that stay put when you push the sleeves up, instead of sliding back down all afternoon.
- Sizes from S to 4XL, because a range that stops at L is not a range.
- Long enough at the back to sit properly over trousers and leggings both.

Worn in, not styled up.
About the Revival Sale
I wish I could say this sale was simply about making room for something new.
The truth is, after 37 years of doing this, the bills behind a small business have never felt quite this heavy. Everything from materials and postage to simply keeping the doors open has become more expensive.
So right now, I could use a little support.
Rather than quietly giving up, I've decided to do the opposite: I've reduced almost everything by up to 75%, including the cardigans I still design with so much love.
If you've had your eye on one, this would mean more to me than you probably realise.
Every order helps me keep Ms. Abbott & Charlie going — and keeps Charlie in his preferred position as completely unqualified shop supervisor.
Thank you for keeping this little business alive.
— Ms. Abbott
