Meet the Cassandra — the coat people stop you about. Triangles and squares in coral, teal, magenta and gold are pieced across a cream ground like a quilt somebody spent a winter on, and the whole inside is lined in soft brushed fleece, collar to hem and down through the sleeves, so the warmth comes from the lining instead of from thickness. The hood is lined in that same fleece and left roomy, with a drawstring for the mornings that bite. And yes — it has pockets. Two of them, set into the front at hip height, deep enough for your phone, your keys and a pair of gloves at once. Lovingly offered by Vivian & Pearl Newport, a family-run boutique since 2006.
